Traditional Japanese lacquer 4 round stacked bento boxes


Here's a fantastic gift! An unusual traditional set of four round floral bento boxes with lids. The wonderful set consists of four individual bento boxes with their own lids. The diversity in this traditional design allows you to either stack four bento boxes with their lids on top of each other or stack up four bento boxes with one lid at the top.

The interior of each bento box is black. These bento boxes can be used for rice, cookies, chocolates or other kinds of food. Hand washing recommended.

Japanese lacquer ware

Lacquer has been a part of Japanese tradition dating back to 6,000 years. Japanese lacquer is recognized the world over for its aesthetic and technical zenith.

Japanese lacquer comes from the urushi tree as sap. After a long period of aging process from 3-5 years, it can be applied as coating using different methods on countless forms and surfaces. A hardened urushi coating not only gives a high gloss to the finished product but also repels water, resists acid, alkali, salt, and alcohol, and insulates against heat and electricity.
